Online shopping has changed the way Malaysians purchase almost everything, including travel luggage. Today, many consumers begin their buying journey on platforms like Shopee and TikTok, where they compare prices, read reviews and watch product demonstrations before making a decision.
However, despite the convenience of e-commerce, many travellers still choose to visit a physical store before purchasing their luggage.
Unlike many consumer products, luggage is something people expect to use for years. Before investing in one, customers often want to experience it in person by testing the wheels, checking the material, comparing sizes and understanding how the storage compartments are organised.
For innovative luggage designs, the in-store experience becomes even more important.
One example is the Case Valker EVE2, which features the trademarked FrontFlip™ opening system. While customers may first discover the product online through videos or live selling sessions, many prefer visiting a store to see how the front-opening design works in real life and whether it suits their travel style.
Recognising this changing buying behaviour, Case Valker has expanded beyond its strong e-commerce presence into physical retail. After building its customer base through its official website, Shopee and TikTok Shop, the brand opened stores at Aurora Place and Sunway Square, before celebrating the successful opening of its third outlet at Sunsuria Forum Mall on 20 May.
The new store allows customers to experience the EVE2 collection firsthand, compare different luggage sizes and colours—including the latest Spirit Red edition—and understand how features such as FrontFlip™, silent spinner wheels and expandable storage can improve their travel experience.
Today’s consumers no longer shop exclusively online or offline. Instead, they move between both channels, researching online before visiting a store, or discovering a product in-store before completing their purchase digitally.
For Case Valker, expanding into retail is not about replacing e-commerce. It is about giving Malaysian travellers more ways to experience the brand and choose the luggage that best suits their needs, whether they shop online or in person.
